Easter jab success
The Vaccinators are celebrating a successful Easter break as over 1,200 people came along to walk-in clinics during the school holidays.
Vaccination teams across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, staffed by Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust, gave over 1,663 vaccinations, including 447 HPV jabs and 319 MMR vaccines.
A series of additional walk-in clinics set up in the wake of news that measles cases are on the rise in many areas of England, including in the East. Eligible people could pop along to the walk-in clinics over the Easter break to get their HPV, MMR (measles, mumps and rubella), Meningitis and Diphtheria, Tetanus and Polio vaccinations.
Following this successful programme to offer people protection against common diseases including measles, The Vaccinators will be back on the road from 24 April onwards to offer the spring COVID-19 booster vaccine to eligible people, including people aged 75 or over by 30 June 2024 and people aged 6 months and over who have a weakened immune system.
Eligible people can find walk-in clinics for the spring booster via Walk In Clinics | CPICS Website, or book an appointment via Book, cancel or change a COVID-19 vaccination appointment - NHS (www.nhs.uk) if they prefer to get booked in.
