Why do I need a flu vaccine?
Every year in England lots of people get flu in winter. Flu is a virus that makes you feel ill. Some people with a learning disability are more likely to be very ill if they get flu. The best way to avoid getting flu is to have a flu vaccine. This is an injection and it is free. There is an easy read guide to the flu vaccine which you might find helpful.

How do I get the vaccines?
You can book your COVID-19 and flu vaccines online. It asks you some question which you answer, and when it gets to a question which says Are you at high risk of coronavirus (COVID-19) due to a health condition? Click Yes, I am high risk. You can choose to have one vaccine or both.
If you do not want to make an appointment you can go to a walk-in clinic and these are on this website page, under the button which says Where are walk-in sessions taking place?
If you have a learning disability, tell your GP. You’ll get access to extra support to help book and get your vaccine.
