New principles to improve care

Clinicians and care professionals throughout Cambridgeshire & Peterborough have co-produced a new set of guiding principles that will help them work together in a better, more effective way – leading to better care for local people as well as a better work environment for staff.

The three Guiding Principles are:

  1. Keeping the person at the centre of decisions

  1. Considerate, quality, and timely communications with local people and colleagues

  1. Respecting professional accountability and responsibility

These new guiding principles were co-designed with clinicians and care professionals from across the area, including through a recent workshop where colleagues came together to discuss how our Integrated Care System can take a person-focused, compassionate approach to all of the care we deliver locally.

Over the coming months our partnership will work to make sure all clinicians and care staff are fully able to implement the new guiding principles, allowing local people to receive the best possible care whilst supporting health and care teams to work together more closely.
