Local communities across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough now have access to JOY Marketplace, an online one-stop-shop of information about local services and support available to help improve your health and wellbeing.

Joy Marketplace currently has over 900 local services listed with more being added weekly. These range from arts and craft activities, community groups, gardening clubs, healthy lifestyles, exercise classes, helping with money matters, mental health support, and many more.

Easy to access, local people can simply visit the website, pop in their postcode and interests to find a range of local activities, groups and support available to them.

Dr Gary Howsam, Chief Clinical Improvement Officer at NHS Cambridgeshire & Peterborough said “JOY Marketplace is helping to simplify the way our communities can access local support and services when and where they need it.

“From social activities, mental health support to services offering career advice, it is great to see how JOY Marketplace is creating healthier and more connected communities for our local people.”

Health and care professionals, such as GPs and Social Prescribers, alongside community and voluntary organisations can also use JOY marketplace to both raise awareness of their services and support they provide, alongside using it to refer or help signpost local people to the appropriate support for their needs.

Mel, a Social Prescriber working with local communities in Peterborough, said: “This is a fantastic resource to have at your fingertips when supporting our local communities. I can quickly search the local area and make direct referrals, so our patients get access to service and support sooner.”

Since the launch of JOY App in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough in 2022 there have been nearly 23,000 referrals made, helping to connect individuals with support within their local communities whilst also helping to reduce the demand on primary care services.
