Come along to

The local NHS and community partners are encouraging local women to come along to two free informative women’s community health events being held in Wisbech and Yaxley in January.

Covering topics such as cervical screening, breast care, health checks, bowel cancer screening and stopping smoking, the events also the offer opportunity to chat with health professionals such as GPs and nurses face to face. These events are free to attend but booking is essential. The events taking place are:

·         Wisbech: Women's Community Get Together - Queen Mary Centre, Wisbech, PE13 2PE.  17 January 2026, 11am to 1pm.

·         Yaxley: Community Women’s Breakfast - Tap & Grill at The Farmers, Yaxley, PE7 3NT. Saturday 24 January 2026, 10am to midday

·         Ramsey: Women's Community Get Together - Ramsey Community Centre, Ramsey, PE26 1SA. Sunday 8 February, 10am to midday.

The women’s community events help make healthcare more accessible to local people, particularly for those who face barriers to traditional healthcare. The format of the events allows people to get information on preventative care such as screening, raise awareness of health problems and allows people to connect with their local healthcare providers.

Dr Abby Richardson, Clinical Lead for Integrated Neighbourhoods, said: “We found these community events continue to be incredibly popular because they are inclusive, easy to access, and designed around what works for local people. If you’re thinking about joining us but aren’t quite sure it’s for you, we’d really encourage you to come along and give it a try. We offer free refreshments and a friendly, welcoming space for everyone.”
