The East of England Cancer Alliance Wins Prestigious National Recognition at the HSJ Digital Awards 2025
The East of England Cancer Alliance is proud to announce that it has been named a winner in the Driving Change Through Data and Analytics category at the HSJ Digital Awards 2025, recognising outstanding achievements in harnessing digital technology to improve healthcare outcomes across the UK.
The HSJ Digital Awards, held 26 June at The ICC in Birmingham, celebrate the power of digital initiatives to transform patient care, improve access to services, and deliver more efficient, equitable healthcare. The East of England Cancer Alliance was recognised for its data-driven approach to reducing variation in cancer waiting times, which impressed the judges with its impactful innovation and scalability.
Sarah Miller, Head of Data and Performance Improvement, and Project Lead at the East of England Cancer Alliance, said: “We are passionate about using data as our evidence base in all of our projects, and we formed new teams of NHS subject matter experts to use data insights to work together and deliver cancer pathway improvements to benefit our staff and patients.”

The judging panel – composed of influential figures from across the health and digital landscape – praised the East of England Cancer Alliance for the scale and simplicity of its solution working together across systems to harness NHS expertise and improve patient experience.
This national recognition underscores the East of England Cancer Alliance’s role as a data and digital leader within the NHS and wider healthcare community, and highlights the importance of innovation, collaboration, and patient-centric design in driving forward digital transformation.
