Half-term vaccine walk-in

NHS Cambridgeshire & Peterborough ICB are running a week of walk-in clinics throughout February half term (19-25 February), to help families catch up with any vaccinations they have missed.

Measles, mumps and rubella (MMR), HPV, meningitis ACWY vaccine and diphtheria, tetanus and polio vaccinations are all available at a variety of locations across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

Measles cases are rising across England and over one in ten children across England remain at risk of catching measles without both doses of the MMR vaccine. Measles is not just a childhood disease; adults can become seriously unwell, and some younger adults might not realise they’ve not had the vaccine as a child. More information about measles can be found here www.cpics.org.uk/measles

Dr Fiona Head, Chief Medical Officer of NHS Cambridgeshire & Peterborough, part of Cambridgeshire & Peterborough ICS said: “We’re running these walk-in clinics during half term to give as many families as possible the chance to catch up on any vaccinations they might have missed. With measles cases rising nationally, it’s vital we ensure we do all we can to ensure our local communities are protected and up to date with their vaccinations.

“If you’re not sure if you have had your vaccinations as a child, or if you’re unsure if your child has had these vaccinations, please contact your GP practice to check.”
